The Proposed Development & Completion of the Pan Borneo Highway in the State of Sarawak is a 4-lane dual carriageway of JKR R5 standard design.
The Pan Borneo Highway was officially launched in 2015. KACC & Perbena Emas formed Konsortium KPE Sdn Bhd to take on Works Package Contract 11 from Sg. Tangap to Pujut Link in Miri.
Covering a distance of 79.8 km through hilly terrain and urban areas, construction of the highway includes 4 interchanges (Beluru, Bekenu, Miri Airport, Pujut Link Road), 1 Rest
Service Area at Lambir, 8 Bridges, 64 Bus shelters and 7 Pedestrian Bridges.
The proposed construction of a new alternative route linking Kuching and Samarahan,
including a crossover over Sg. Sarawak at Sejingkat, is to reduce traffic congestion during peak
hour along the existing Kuching/Samarahan Expressway.
The total length of the alignment is
approximately 1.71km, comprising 1.281km long bridge connecting the existing road at Tg.
Bako with Sejingkat, together with construction of two major junctions, one at each end.
As part of Kuala Lumpur’s ‘River of Life’ project, the new wastewater facility will transform
the Klang and Gombak rivers into a vibrant livable waterfront with high economic value.
KACC is involved in river development works, specifically installation of 42km of new sewer
lines, decommissioning and demolition of older sewerage treatment pumping stations to
support the new centralized sewage treatment plant for the Batu, Jinjang Kepong and Kuala
Lumpur catchment area.
This new 6.2km road with two RC bridges and other associated works will provide an alternative bypass route from Sibu Jaya to Durin and Sibu town.
KACC is undertaking water pipe relocation works as part of the development of Pan Borneo Highway Sarawak for selected Works Packages 8 (Selangau – Balingian), 10 (Bakun – Niah) and 11 (Beluru – Miri).
